Will Work In Unusual Circumstances

A few weeks back I accompanied Jay to a private, deep water, dock on the Frederica River to install a new fish finder on a small fishing boat.  Only problem was, the boat was on a lift, and the owner wasn’t able to trailer it at the time making installation of a new transducer a little awkward.  No problem for us!  Thanks to a boater friend, we had an 8 ft. inflatable dinghy to use.  (The adventures of the newly repaired dinghy is a whole other story for another blog!)

Jay hopped in the dinghy and motored out under the boat, removed the old transducer and installed the new one with little trouble.  I think the toughest part was keeping the dinghy in the right position in the river current – I spent a little time on the dinghy with him just holding the boat still!

In the meantime, I took the liberty of snapping a few pics of the work in progress:

Anyone ever worked in a stranger situation?
